New State Policy: H.R.1 Medical Frailty Exclusions
NC Medicaid has posted the draft Medical Frailty Clinical Coverage Policy, Medically Frail Code List, and Provider Attestation Form for public comment and review period. The materials outline the criteria and documentation process that will be used to determine medical frailty exclusions from community engagement requirements beginning January 1, 2027. The public comment period ends November 5, 2026. Submit comments by emailing: medicaid.public.comment@dhhs.nc.gov. Visit Proposed Medicaid Policies for more details.
