Mandatory Closed Network for Select Behavioral Health Services Effective July 2, 2026
Pursuant to Senate Bill 257, effective July 2, 2026, each Prepaid Health Plan (PHP) will be required to develop and maintain a mandatory closed network for the provision of select behavioral health services. Under this requirement, PHPs may exclude providers from their closed networks for the services identified below.
Services subject to the mandatory closed network:
- Peer support services.
- Research-based behavioral health treatment services.
If in doubt, providers should contact the PHP to confirm contract status prior to service delivery.
This notice is intended to ensure providers have advance notice of the mandatory closed-network requirement.
