Community Capacity Grants Available to Increase Food Security
Alliance Health is committed to effectively and equitably addressing social drivers of health (SDoH). Social drivers of health are non-medical factors that influence health outcomes. We believe investing in our communities is key to ensuring that services and supports addressing SDoH are available to those in need. As part of Alliance’s ongoing philosophy of community reinvestment, we are allocating funds for Community Capacity Grants to be awarded to community-based organizations (CBOs) that are currently operating programs that aim to increase food security, a key SDoH, within the Alliance service area of Cumberland, Durham, Johnston, Mecklenburg, Orange and Wake counties. The CBOs that are awarded funds through this grant application process must use funding from these one-time grants to increase their capacity and/or infrastructure for community food security. Applicants must not be an in- or out-of-network provider or otherwise contracted to provide Medicaid, state, or publicly funded health care services with Alliance or with any other North Carolina LME/MCO.
