Alliance is piloting North Carolina's TBI Waiver and may be able to offer help to people who sustain a head injury at on or after their 18th birthday.

Alliance Health operates a waiver for Traumatic Brain Injury in Cumberland, Durham, Johnston, Mecklenburg, Orange, and Wake.

Effective April 1, 2023, CMS has approved the NC TBI Waiver expansion into Orange and Mecklenburg counties. TBI Waiver services are anticipated to be available in Orange and Mecklenburg counties on or by June 1, 2023.

Alliance Health held TBI Waiver listening sessions for our providers to provide an overview of the TBI Waiver services along with current provider needs in those counties in the fall of 2022. Watch a video of one of the sessions.

Interested providers are encouraged to review Alliance’s Current Service Needs page to determine Alliance’s current TBI Waiver network needs and information on how to submit a provider application request.

Alliance may be able to offer help for people who sustained a head injury on or after their 18th birthday. To learn more about the TBI waiver and to see whether you or someone you care about might be eligible, call Alliance Member and Recipient Services 24/7 at 800-510-9132.
