SR-AHEC Training: An Overview of Suicide Risk Assessment and Management

Suicide is one of the leading causes of death in the United States as well as one of the most difficult problems mental health professionals have to handle in their profession. Beyond completed suicides, suicidal behavior is common therefore a thorough understanding of how to assess for risk as well as how to intervene when suicidal behavior occurs is crucial for a mental health practitioner. The aim of this course is to learn updated information about the risk factors that lead to suicide and the interventions that are effective for suicidal behavior. This free online workshop will provide assessment of suicide risk and in crisis intervention and management training.
