Youth Mental Health First Aid (YMHFA) is designed for adults who often interact with young people such as parents, family members, caregivers, teachers, school staff, health care workers, and more. The goal of this training is to teach adults how to help adolescents (age 12-18) facing mental health or substance use challenges or crises. The course introduces common mental health challenges for youth, reviews typical development and teaches a five-step action plan for how to help young people in both crisis and non-crisis situations.
