Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Waiver Services

Alliance offers services for people with a TBI (head injury) on or after they are age 18. Learn more on this page.

Who can get TBI services?

TBI services are available to eligible individuals who:

  • Live in Cumberland, Durham, Harnett, Johnston, Mecklenburg, Orange or Wake counties
  • Had a severe TBI that happened on or after age 18 that
    • Is likely to continue for a long time
    • Causes major challenges to complete daily actions
    • Causes individual to need more than one type of service and supports to be more independent
  • Are eligible and applied for Medicaid to receive TBI services

TBI Waiver Expanded to Harnett County

  • CMS has approved expansion of the TBI Waiver into Harnett County and Alliance is currently recruiting providers to deliver TBI services in the county.
  • It is for adults only and focuses on rehabilitation
  • It is designed for individuals who sustained their injuries on or after their 18th birthday

Alliance is currently taking suggestions for potential community outreach sites in Harnett County. Our Community Engagement Team will be visiting Harnett County and plans to conduct live information sessions at churches, provider agencies, civic organizations and more.
