There are resources to help people without Medicaid or Medicare pay for medicines, including pharmacy discount programs and patient assistance programs.

Medication Assistance Program (MAP)
Non-profit organization that provides access to free prescription drugs for people who do not have insurance and are low-income.

Medicine Assistance Tool
Free online program that connects people to patient assistance programs and free and low-cost clinics in their area.

Non-Profit Pharmacy

NC Med Assist
Non-profit pharmacy program for people who live in North Carolina that provides free access to prescription medicines, patient support, advocacy, and related services.

Rx Outreach
Non-profit mail order pharmacy in St Louis that ships medicine to your home. Patients can be on Medicaid, Medicare, or other health insurance and use Rx Outreach. There are no enrollment or membership fees.

Pharmacy Discount Programs

Blink Health
For-profit company that offers a free app to find the lowest price for a drug and locks it in for people who can then pay online and fill their prescriptions at a pharmacy.

Mark Cuban Cost Plus Drugs
Cost Plus Drug Company works with drug makers to get a lower price for medicines by not going through a pharmacy.

FamilyWize
Works with more than 61,000 pharmacies that have agreed to give people prices like what they give large insurance companies and employers. FamilyWize provides prescription discounts, coupons, and prescription discount cards.

Good Rx
A for-profit company that collects and compares prices and then offers people a coupon to get the best price. The company has information on every FDA-approved medicine at more than 70,000 US pharmacies. Once the person finds the best price at a local pharmacy, they can either print a coupon or show it on their smart phone.

North Carolina Medical Society (NCMS) Discount Prescription Drug Card
Provides lower medicine prices at more than 68,000 pharmacies. Individuals can use this card as their primary prescription plan, or use it on prescriptions not covered by their insurance.

NeedyMeds
A non-profit that provides information on all medical needs, including medicines. It collects data on patient assistance programs, drug coupons and rebates, and offers its own drug discount card.
