Free Mobile Crisis Training

Alliance Health is pleased to offer a FREE 6‑week virtual training program designed specifically for Mobile Crisis staff. Provided in partnership with the National Center for START Services (NC START), this course enhances the knowledge and skills needed to deliver effective crisis support for individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities (IDD) and those with co-occurring IDD and Mental Health needs

Course Objectives

By the end of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Identify how common mental health conditions may present in individuals with IDD.
  • Distinguish between a person’s observable presentation and their formal diagnoses.
  • Incorporate course concepts into informed and effective disposition recommendations.
  • Apply strategies and best practices from the training when conducting crisis assessments for individuals with IDD and/or dual IDD/MH diagnoses.

Training Schedule

  • Dates: October 27, 2026 – December 01, 2026
  • Day/Time: Tuesdays, 1:00 PM – 2:45 PM EST
  • Format: Virtual (live sessions)

Eligibility

Participants must:

  • Be currently employed with an Alliance Health–contracted agency
  • Employees of out-of-network providers are eligible only if the provider is actively serving Alliance members.
  • Serve in a Mobile Crisis role working with members diagnosed with IDD, TBI, and/or dual IDD/MH

*Incomplete registrations will not be processed.

Important Registration Notes

  • Registration Deadline: Thursday, October 8, 2026 (end of day)
  • Registration is first come, first served for fully completed submissions
  • Staff who complete the full training and all program requirements—including receipt of a certificate or letter of completion—will be eligible for a $185 incentive.
  • Incomplete or unverifiable information may result in denial of participation or forfeiture of the incentive
  • EORs and their staff may participate in the training, however, Alliance will not be able to offer incentive payments.
  • Participants must complete all required surveys (pre-training, session, and post-training surveys) to receive a certificate of completion
