Important Network Update: WakeMed and Alliance

Effective July 1, 2026, WakeMed is no longer in Alliance’s network for Tailored Plan services.

What does this mean for Tailored Plan members?

Services provided by WakeMed after this date may be treated as out-of-network by your Alliance Tailored Plan. We encourage you to call Alliance to learn how this change may affect your coverage and benefits.

Services that are NOT impacted by this change:

  • Emergency services — Emergency care will still be covered, even if WakeMed is out of network, as required by law.
  • Post-stabilization care — Care needed to help you recover after an emergency will still be covered.
  • Transitions of care — If you are currently receiving ongoing treatment, or were scheduled prior to July 1, 2026 for surgery, organ transplantation, or inpatient care to occur after July 1, 2026, you may qualify to keep your in-network benefits for a limited time. Please contact Alliance if you have questions.

Other important information to know:

  • If your primary care provider (PCP) is with WakeMed, you are encouraged to choose a different PCP.
  • You can stay with Alliance and keep seeing your WakeMed provider if WakeMed allows it.
  • Your Medicaid card may show a different PCP, but you do not have to change your health plan.
  • Even if a different PCP is listed on your Medicaid card, you may still be able to see your WakeMed provider.

Questions?

If you have questions about how this change affects your care or coverage, please contact Alliance Health Member and Recipient Services at 800-510-9132. We are committed to making sure you receive high-quality care during this change.
