Updated Guidance on Birth Month Alignment for 1915i

Recent updates have been made to the new NC Medicaid 1915(i) Assessment form.

Before launching the updated NC Medicaid 1915(i) Assessment Form and 1915(i) Assessment Tool Companion Guide, NC Medicaid trained Tailored Care Management (TCM) care managers and 1915(i) service providers on shifting 1915(i) eligibility and Care Plan/Individual Support Plan (ISP) timeframes to align with each member’s birth month.

Recent updates have been made to the new NC Medicaid 1915(i) Assessment form. Specifically, the 1915(i) eligibility end date has been removed. In earlier versions, the end date could shorten a member’s 1915(i) eligibility period from the full 365 days.

Carelon has been notified and is aware of the updated process. Care managers should review the updated training materials to ensure familiarity with the revised approach to Birth Month Alignment for 1915(i).
