Alliance Health CEO Rob Robinson is the recipient of a 2025 Corporate Leadership Award from the Triangle Business Journal. These awards honor outstanding C-level executives from a variety of industries for their outstanding contributions to the Triangle community.
Robinson was recognized for his leadership of Alliance through years of explosive growth culminating in the 2024 launch of its Behavioral Health and Intellectual/Developmental Disability (I/DD) Tailored Plan. During its initial year, the Alliance Tailored Plan covered more than 143,000 members across seven North Carolina counties including the Triangle area and Charlotte. The plan manages all the health care needs – physical, behavioral, and pharmacy – for people with severe mental illnesses, substance use disorders, and long-term care needs including I/DD and traumatic brain injury.
During his tenure he has prioritized significant expansion of Alliance’s crisis service continuum to stabilize individuals experiencing behavioral health crises to reduce unnecessary trips to the emergency department, hospitalizations, and incarcerations.
He also championed the company’s recent $25 million investment in a range of targeted projects to significantly strengthen local access to mental health, I/DD, and substance use disorder services by addressing service gaps and bolstering provider resources, part of an initiative recognizing that Alliance and the communities the plan serves are BETTER TOGETHER through partnership, investment and service.
In addition to his leadership role at Alliance, Robinson is founding president of the NC Association of Public Community Health Plans and serves on the Membership Council of the Association for Community Affiliated Plans (ACAP) and the board of directors of the i2i Center for Integrative Health.
