Skills System training course
Alliance Health is pleased to announce a free two-day training series for direct support professionals and clinicians in partnership with Skills System, LLC.
This course is designed to offer a tangible emotion regulation skill set within motivational interviewing, trauma-informed approaches, and positive behavioral supports.

Training schedule
This training series has two parts.
Part 1:
- Six hours of self-paced e-learning modules
- Participants must complete the online modules via the free Skills System app or online at https://members.skillssystem.com/login/. Modules should be completed before the two-day training and must be completed in full to receive a letter of completion. Participants will be able to create a unique password and login once they are registered
Part 2:
- Two-day training
- Dates: June 9 – June 10, 2026
- Time: 10 am – 5 pm
- Format: Virtual
Optional add-ons
- Providers who are interested may purchase the optional Skills System book, The Emotion Regulation Skills System for Clients with Cognitive Challenges, Second Edition from any retailer of their choice for their registered participants.
- Providers may also purchase the package bundle that includes the book listed above and The Emotion Regulation Skills System Workbook, Second Edition offered by Guilford Press. For your convenience, we have included links to the book and bundle options from Amazon and the publisher, Guilford Press. Please see the links below.
- Should a provider choose to purchase the optional book or bundle for their registered participants, Alliance will reimburse them for the cost of the book or bundle, up to $60. (Please note, sales tax and shipping will not be reimbursed, only the cost of the book or bundle that is purchased. Also, the payment will be a reimbursement and not paid upfront)
- When submitting invoices for any books purchased, please include an itemized and detailed receipt.
Eligibility
Participants must:
- Be actively employed by a behavioral health contracted Alliance Health provider agency.
- Be in an eligible roles: direct support professionals to include qualified professionals, associate professionals, paraprofessionals, clinicians, and other staff who currently work and provide direct support or face-to-face care with Alliance Health members with IDD, TBI, and/or IDD/MH dual.

*Incomplete registrations will not be processed.
Important registration notes
- Registration deadline May 13, 2026 (end of day)
- Registration is first come, first served for fully completed submissions
- Staff who complete the full training, e-learning, and all program requirements—including receipt of a certificate or letter of completion—will be eligible for a $340 incentive.
- Incomplete or unverifiable information may result in denial of participation or forfeiture of the incentive
- Participants must complete all training requirements (e-learning, 2-day session attendance, and any pre-training, session, and post-training surveys) to receive a certificate of completion
- If you are an EORs who is interested please reach out to the [email protected] prior to registering as additional steps may be required in order to register your employees.
