Alliance Health is pleased to offer a professional development and certification opportunity for direct support professionals (DSPs) through a partnership with the National Association for the Dually Diagnosed (NADD).
This free training initiative is designed to enhance DSP knowledge and elevate the quality of support provided to individuals with IDD, TBI, or dual IDD/MH diagnoses. Participants will gain access to the DSP Train‑the‑Trainer Series, which helps build internal training capacity within provider agencies.
Training Overview
- Training organization: National Association for the Dually Diagnosed (NADD)
- Cost: Free
- Incentive: $330
- Each participant who completes all session requirements is eligible to receive the incentive.
- Training dates: August 4, 2026, and August 20, 2026
- Time commitment:
- Two-week program
- One virtual session each day (Tuesday August 4 and Thursday August 20)
- 8 am – 4:30 pm
- Optional DSP certification
- Participants may choose to complete the certification exam if they meet the minimum qualification; certification is granted upon passing.
- Monthly educational webinars
- Live‑virtual and recorded sessions that organizations may use for future DSP and agency staff training.
Eligibility
Participants must:
- Be currently employed with an Alliance Health–contracted agency
- Serve in a DSP role working with members diagnosed with IDD, TBI, and/or dual IDD/MH

To register, the manager must email the following required information to dsptraining@alliancehealthplan.org and copy the participant:

*Incomplete registrations will not be processed.
Important registration notes
- Registration deadline: Friday, July 17, 2026 (end of day)
- ·Providers may register only two staff members per agency as space is limited. Additional slots may become available depending on capacity.
- ·Registration is first come, first served for fully completed submissions
- ·Incomplete or unverifiable information may result in denial of participation or forfeiture of the incentive
- ·Participants must complete all required surveys (pre-training, session, and post-training surveys) to receive a certificate of completion
- ·Participants must complete all sessions to be eligible for the incentive payment.
- ·EORs and their staff may participate in the training, however, Alliance will not be able to offer incentive payments.
