Therapeutic Foster Care (TFC) Caregiver Respite
As a reminder, Alliance Health,in partnership with Pinnacle Family Services, is offering therapeutic foster care (TFC) caregiver respite (therapeutic relief). This program is funded through an allocation from the Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Child and Family Wellbeing.
TFC caregiver respite (therapeutic relief) supports TFC providers and youth by providing one-on-one support to youth during times of emergency with the therapeutic family/caregiver. Additionally, TFC caregiver respite can be utilized for planned periodic respite to prevent or reduce behavioral crises, reduce burnout, and positively impact placement stabilization for youth in TFC.
This service is available during awake hours to any youth in TFC receiving Medicaid through Alliance Health, who live within the Alliance catchment area or bordering counties (within proximity to respite staff). The only exclusion is youth who have a current service authorization for 1915i or Innovations Waiver respite and have not used the total billable units allowed for the plan year.
