Important Change to Address Requirements on Claims
Effective June 19, 2023, the provider address listed on claims, including street address line 1, street address line 2, city, state and zip+4, must exactly match the spelling and formatting of the provider address listed in NCTracks. The match does not need to be case sensitive, but providers must be cognizant of abbreviations and misspellings. To avoid denials, please review your claims file formats and electronic health record (EHR) address setup.
For example, the address 123 Sesame St. Raleigh NC 27654-3210 will not match 123 Sesame Street Raleigh NC 27654-3210, but it will match the NCTracks address 123 SESAME ST RALEIGH NC 27654-3210.
When this change was run through testing it was determined that most providers had not yet made these changes (which were first released on April 4, 2023). Providers must make these changes now to avoid denied claims.
