White Flag Status Declared in Wake County
Attention Wake County providers:
The NC 507 CoC Homeless Emergency Response Committee (HERC)has recommended declaration of white flag status from 4 pm Friday, September 30, 2022, through Saturday, October 1, 2022. As a result, a shelter for the homeless is being established from Friday, September 30 at 4 pm. through Saturday, October 1 at 8 a.m. This temporary shelter is located at Pullen Memorial Baptist Church, 1801 Hillsborough St., Raleigh, NC 27605.
This declaration is being recommended due to the remnants of Hurricane Ian that will move through the area. Current forecasts expect heavy rainfall and wind gusts of 45-50 mph during the day Friday and into Friday night.
