Tailored Plan Launch Delayed to April 1, 2023

NCDHHS, in consultation with the LME/MCOs, has decided to delay the full launch of Tailored Plans from December 1, 2022 to April 1, 2023. View the DHHS announcement. Pushing back the full launch of the Tailored Plans will allow more time for Alliance and the other LME/MCOs to contract with all providers necessary to support member choice for primary care providers and other healthcare professionals and to further test critical data systems.

It is important to note that two key functions of the Tailored Plans will still go live on December 1, 2022 as previously scheduled:

• Tailored Care Management
  • TCM providers must have completed the DHHS certification process and hold a Tailored Plan network participation agreement with Alliance
• Pending CMS approval, the implementation of the 1915(i) option to provide certain services to help beneficiaries remain in their homes and community-based settings

Beneficiaries set to receive care through the Tailored Plans will continue to receive behavioral health and I/DD services and supports through their LME/MCO and physical health and pharmacy services through NC Medicaid Direct, just as they do currently.
