Long Term Residential and Day Supports (LTRDS) Service – ON HOLD

This notification provides an update on the NCDHHS’s ongoing collaboration with Tailored Plans regarding the Long-Term Community Support (LTCS) transition to LTRDS. The department has been actively coordinating with CMS on the LTRDS service definition, and CMS has requested additional details related to both the service definition and the associated payment methodology, particularly concerning bundled services.

Based on this feedback, it has been determined that the department may need to revise how this service is delivered under North Carolina Medicaid. As a result, implementation of LTRDS—previously scheduled for July 1, 2026—will be placed on hold.

The Long-Term Community Support service will continue to operate under its current structure for North Carolina Medicaid beneficiaries.
