Information and Resources for Tenants During COVID-19

As we enter the final weeks of the temporary eviction moratorium for renters living in Public Housing or Multifamily property as well as renters covered by North Carolina Executive Order 142, NC DHHS wants to make sure agencies had information to plan for and implement strategies to keep families stably housed, mitigate economic hardships and health & safety crisis.   The attached information provides pertinent steps tenants may take to prevent eviction for non-payment of rent/utilities,  helpful updates on COVID-19 information and safety concerns, Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) protections, and resources related to tenant needs.

Please check with the tenants you directly support about their rental and utility payment status prior to July 24th, so that you can help them prepare in accordance with guidance provided within these documents, if necessary.
