Update on Operations at Crisis and Assessment Center on Roxie Avenue

The Crisis and Assessment Center at 1724 Roxie Avenue in Fayetteville will continue to offer screening, triage and referral services to citizens of Cumberland County who arrive at the crisis facility during the upcoming transition in facility providers.

Current facility operator Cape Fear Valley Health will provide screening and referral services Monday-Fridays from 8:00am-10:00pm and on weekends from 8:00am-5:00pm. The center has discontinued detoxification and short-term stabilization services and will coordinate and refer to outpatient providers in the community as well as facilitate treatment in the health system as indicated and appropriate.  As always, individuals experiencing a life-threatening emergency should call 911 or go to a hospital emergency department.

RI International, the new provider recently chosen to assume crisis services at the Roxie Avenue facility, is scheduled to begin operations on August 1, but Alliance is working with RI to accelerate this timeline.

Those experiencing a behavioral health crisis that is not life threatening should call the Alliance Access and Information Center at (800) 510-9132. Alliance clinicians are available 24/7 to assist individuals in determining what to do next. Options include dispatching a mobile crisis team directly to the individual’s home or other location or sending them to the ED for assessment and other needed crisis services.

Alternately, individuals in crisis can contact the Cape Fear Valley Community Mental Health Center outpatient clinic at (910) 615-3333 to schedule an appointment. The clinic hours are Monday-Wednesdays from 8:00am-5:00pm, Thursdays from 8:00am-7:00pm, and Fridays from 8:00am-1:00pm. The clinic is located at 711 Executive Place in Fayetteville.

Additionally, Carolina Outreach will provide behavioral health urgent care services beginning May 6 at their office on 911 Hay Street in Fayetteville. These services are in addition to their outpatient mental health and substance used disorder treatment services provided at this location. The behavioral health urgent care services will be available on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3:00-7:00pm. Individuals can receive an assessment, access to a psychiatrist and needed medications, and case management to ensure linkage to necessary follow up services, all in one visit.

Carolina Outreach also offers walk-in assessment hours on Mondays from 1:00-4:00pm and Wednesdays from 8:00-10:00am and beginning May 11, on Saturdays from 9:00am-noon.

Alliance Health is committed to offering a comprehensive array of crisis services to the citizens of Cumberland County, and will continue to work with Cape Fear Valley to ensure that the needs of the community are met during the transition of crisis services to RI International.
