In 2020, DHHS along with NCHFA and Technical Assistance Collaborative (TAC) embarked on implementing quick, interactive, scenario-based trainings as well as webinars on fair housing and other permanent supportive housing strategies as an opportunity to enhance LME-MCO and human service provider staff housing knowledge. We are kicking off 2021 with a two part  web-based training titled, “Section 8 Made Simple“.  The webinars will aim to help attendees gain a better understanding on how the Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) Program is administered by local Public Housing Authorities.

During the webinars, practitioners will develop a more thorough understanding of the HCV eligibility, application, screening/denials, and waiting list processes. Additionally, practitioners will be offered an overview of how to use a reasonable accommodation request to support a HCV applicant throughout this process.

The training will be offered through two 90 minute webinar sessions that will combine a specialized presentation followed by a question/answer session.

Participants are expected to attend both sessions.
